Synapsis is Expanding
Synapsis is a small experimental performance space in Eureka, California run by a collective of aerialists, performers, activists, and artists. We have been making underground performances in a small warehouse on the edge of Old Town for 12 years and are excited to now expand into an accessible space where we are able to host more performances, classes, and workshops.
We are keeping our old space to use as a performance incubator; artists from Eureka and places beyond will be able to come, make new work, and offer a performance or workshop to the local community. We are particularly interested in creating space for the expression of people and ideas from the margins and experiments in performance and time based art. Many of us also have an aerial dance passion, and now we are able to share more classes and programming in circus arts.
We are asking for help in starting this new space. Lights, aerial equipment, studio supplies, construction, and start-up fees are all quite expensive. Synapsis is dedicated to serving the community. Please help us make the new studio a success!
